** IMPORTANT INFO! **
Only four coaches (certified head coach and certified three
assistants) will be allowed on the bench at all times. A certified team
minister may also occupy a seat on the bench. If a team chooses to use a
certified scorekeeper, they will take the place of an assistant coach. Hence,
NO MORE than five certified personnel are allowed on the bench at one time.
All head coaches, assistant coaches, team minister, and team
scorekeeper must have been certified through Chancery sponsored clinics. NYSCA
and KSN certification cards will no longer be valid. All bench personnel must
display their certification card during the entire game. May be worn around
the neck on a lanyard or in a plastic holder clipped to a shirt. THIS RULE
WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED BEGINNING DECEMBER 20, 2002. PENALTY:
Individuals without the approved certification card, will not be allowed on
the bench. If no team personnel has a certification card with them, the game
will be played but considered a forfeit.
CYO patch rule will also be strictly enforced on December 20,
2002. Patches must be sewn or ironed on as per CYO handbook. For safety
reasons, patches may NOT be pinned or stapled to uniform.
Due to the fact that we are dealing with 256 teams, 20 gym
locations and over 1500 scheduled games, there will be NO game changes, except
for the convenience of the Zone.
Basketball season ends February 7, 2003.
Zone Basketball
playoffs start February 8, 2003.
City Basketball
playoffs start February 16, 2003.
Please do not allow your players to carry balls into any of the basketball facilities. Failure to follow these rules can result in the loss of gym space for games and practices. NO EXCEPTIONS!
